Give Cherry the Chance to Earn Her GED

Cherry has already passed her GED Ready assessments — now she’s raising the final $1,900 to sit her official exams and finish what she started.

Cherry is a student from Myanmar now living in Thailand, in the student dorm at Wonderland Jungle Hostel on Koh Tao. Formal Thai secondary schooling hasn’t been a realistic path for her as a refugee, so she built her own: studying English, Science, Math, and Social Studies on her own track, and preparing for the GED — an internationally recognised high school equivalency that opens the door to university.

She’s already passed her GED Ready assessments and is preparing for the official exams in all four subjects: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Alongside her studies, Cherry volunteers as a teacher and is aiming for law school in New Zealand once her GED is complete.

Cherry’s parents have already contributed 36,000 THB toward her education. The remaining $1,900 (60,000 THB) covers her full preparation course at House of Griffin (Bangkok GED Cert Centre), study materials, and official exam fees for all four subjects.

“I want to finish my GED so I can build a better future. Even if I cannot attend school, I won’t stop learning.” — Cherry
