Kirosha’s Journey to Becoming a Doctor: Empowered by HAEA-Sponsored Courses

Oct 9, 2024 | News

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of Kirosha, a dedicated student from Malaysia who has completed two comprehensive medical courses sponsored by HAEA. Our journey with Kirosha began through the Happy Readers program organized by Perak Women for Women (PWW), where HAEA designed educational materials and volunteered to teach classes on human rights, science, and history via Zoom. During this program, we recognized her incredible potential and passion for learning.

The Courses

Kirosha has successfully completed two dynamic courses via Outschool.com: the I Want To Be A Doctor – Medical English Ongoing Course (B1+) and the Journey into Medicine program. These programs provided her with essential medical knowledge and English proficiency, equipping her to pursue a career in healthcare.

I Want To Be A Doctor – Medical English (B1+)

This six-month course focused on building her understanding of medical English, which is crucial for communicating in healthcare environments. The course covered medical terminology, patient interactions, and real-world scenarios, helping Kirosha develop strong language skills and prepare for future medical studies.

Journey into Medicine

In the Journey into Medicine course, which lasted three months, Kirosha gained insight into the world of healthcare. She explored topics like anatomy, first aid, and the responsibilities of various medical professionals. This course reinforced her desire to become a doctor and gave her a comprehensive understanding of what lies ahead in the field of medicine.

HAEA’s Role in Supporting Kirosha’s Dreams

After recognizing her passion for education and healthcare through the Happy Readers program, HAEA committed to supporting Kirosha’s educational journey by sponsoring these medical courses. This sponsorship allowed her to access quality education that would have otherwise been unattainable.

Kirosha’s story is a shining example of the importance of providing educational opportunities to underprivileged students. Her dedication to learning and her perseverance in the face of challenges have inspired everyone at HAEA.

The Path Ahead

We are confident that Kirosha’s drive and determination will carry her through the next stages of her journey to becoming a doctor. Her newly acquired skills in medical English and medicine lay a strong foundation for her future studies, and we look forward to supporting her continued progress.
