What we do
Skill Development
At Horizon Asia Educational Association (HAEA), we believe in holistic education. Our Skill Empowerment programs encourage students to explore new talents and skills both in-person and via Zoom, enriching their personal development. These programs are offered through collaborations with various organizations and are available to students from Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. We sponsor a variety of activities, including diving and swimming lessons, to ensure our students are empowered beyond the classroom.
Support
How You Can Help
You can make a significant impact by sponsoring swimming lessons through Koh Tao Swim, scuba diving courses with Mojo Divers, or volunteering your time for arts and crafts and digital literacy sessions. These classes take place at Wonderland Jungle Hostel on Koh Tao or online via Zoom. If you’re passing through, you can get involved by offering your time and expertise to help our students develop new skills.
Our Focus Areas
Swimming Classes
We sponsor swimming lessons through Koh Tao Swim, helping students build confidence in the water while learning essential safety and swimming skills. Donations to support these lessons are greatly appreciated and can make a huge difference in a student’s life.
Arts & Crafts
Our arts and crafts classes foster creativity and self-expression. Volunteers are always welcome to share their artistic talents and help students explore their creativity through hands-on activities, either in-person at Koh Tao or virtually.
Scuba Diving
In collaboration with Mojo Divers, we offer sponsored scuba diving courses, where students not only learn how to dive but also gain confidence and develop new skills. Donations help cover the costs of these life-changing experiences, including the certification process.
Digital Literacy
We equip students with essential digital literacy skills, teaching them how to use computers and navigate the digital world. If you have a background in tech or simply want to help, you can volunteer to guide students in developing these critical skills through in-person or Zoom-based sessions.
Photography
Our photography classes teach students the art of visual storytelling. By learning photography, students are empowered to capture and share their stories through a creative medium.
