Successful Completion of ESL Course by Tirapisen
The Horizon Asia Education Association (HAEA), a volunteer-driven initiative committed to empowering underserved communities through education, is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Tirapisen, a dedicated student from the Semai community. She successfully completed her ESL (English as a Second Language) course in September 2023. This milestone is a testament to her unwavering commitment and the comprehensive support provided by HAEA.
From Online Learning to International Experience
Tirapisen’s journey with HAEA began with our online Zoom classes, where she consistently demonstrated her eagerness to learn and grow. Despite the challenges of remote learning, she never missed a class, showcasing her determination and resilience. Her progress in English was evident, and her passion for learning shone through every session.
Recognizing her potential and commitment, HAEA decided to take her education a step further. We sponsored all the necessary documents for her international travel, a significant milestone for Tirapisen as it was her first time traveling outside of the country. This opportunity was made possible through the generosity and support of our donors and partners.
Studying at Me Fah ESL School in Thailand
In September 2023, Tirapisen embarked on a one-month journey to study English at the accredited Me Fah ESL School in Koh Tao, Thailand. Wonderland Jungle Hostel graciously provided free accommodation, creating a supportive environment for her studies. Additionally, our supporter and friend See Ming accompanied Tirapisen on her journey and sponsored her flight tickets. HAEA covered the rest of the trip’s expenses, including tuition, food, and transportation, ensuring that she could focus entirely on her studies.
A Transformative Learning Experience
During her time at Me Fah ESL School, Tirapisen immersed herself in the learning experience, gaining valuable insights and making significant progress in her English proficiency. The intensive course, combined with the immersive environment, enabled her to enhance her language skills rapidly. Her teachers praised her dedication and eagerness to learn, and she returned home with newfound confidence and knowledge.
Inspiring the Next Generation: Becoming a Teacher
Looking ahead, Tirapisen has decided to become a teacher herself, inspired by her educational journey. HAEA is thrilled to support her next step by sponsoring her teacher training course starting on August 26 with SUKA Society. This training will equip her with the skills and confidence to give back to her community and inspire the next generation of learners.
Impact on the Semai Community
Tirapisen’s successful completion of the ESL course is a monumental achievement. It not only marks a significant milestone in her educational journey but also sets a powerful example for her peers in the Semai community. Her experience underscores the importance of providing educational opportunities and the impact that dedicated support can have on a student’s life.
