Happy Readers Programme: Teaching Human Rights History, Science, and Geography

May 12, 2021 | News

The Happy Readers Programme, launched by NGO Perak Women for Women (PWW) and supported by the Horizon Asia Education Association (HAEA), continues to inspire young minds every Sunday. This initiative provides free Zoom classes for children aged 8-15 from underprivileged communities in Malaysia, focusing on human rights history, science, and geography.

Since 2021: A Beacon of Hope and Learning

Since its inception in May 2021, the Happy Readers Programme has been a beacon of hope and learning for these children. HAEA actively participates by designing study materials and providing volunteer teachers every other Sunday. This collaborative effort ensures that the children receive a high-quality education that is both informative and engaging.

Empowering Children Through Education

Through the Happy Readers Programme, children are not only gaining knowledge but also developing a sense of justice and empowerment. The lessons on human rights history are particularly impactful, instilling in them an understanding of their rights and responsibilities. Science and geography lessons broaden their horizons and stimulate their curiosity about the world.

Remarkable Success and Student Progress

The program has seen remarkable success, with students showing significant improvements in their understanding of the subjects and a growing interest in learning. The interactive and supportive environment of the classes has also helped in building their confidence and critical thinking skills.

A Testament to the Power of Education

The Happy Readers Programme exemplifies the power of education in transforming lives. By focusing on essential subjects and providing consistent support, we are helping to create a generation of informed and empowered individuals.

HAEA’s Commitment to Collaboration and Community Growth

HAEA is proud to be part of this initiative and remains committed to supporting the educational journey of these young learners. Our partnership with PWW is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration and a shared vision for a better future. We look forward to continuing this impactful work and reaching even more children in need.
